Rules

Poker is a card game played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The highest hand wins the pot. The cards are ranked from high to low, with Ace being the highest. The four suits are spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs.

Playing at low stakes helps you learn the game and gain experience before moving up to higher stakes. It also allows you to play against weaker opponents.

Unwritten Rules

There are many unwritten poker rules that you will encounter when playing live games in real card rooms, including poker tournaments. Having an understanding of these rules can improve the atmosphere and the game for everyone – and help you win more money!

Acting out of turn

In poker, acting out of turn is a serious violation of the rules. You can be fined or have your game interrupted if you do this and it may even result in the loss of the entire pot!

Angle shooting

In poker, angle shooting is when a player intentionally makes an unethical move to take advantage of the less experienced players at the table. This can be a very disgusting and aggressive act, but it’s important to avoid because it could affect the integrity of the game.

When a player takes action on another person’s hand, it means that they fold, check, call or raise. It can also mean that they read a hand for another player at the showdown.
