Official betting is based on money lines, which are displayed on the electronic wagering displays and wagering sheets. Money line odds change constantly, and the payoff on a winning selection varies depending on the number of runners selected.

Hitting an “exacta” entails selecting the first two finishers in exact order; a “quinella” is picking the first three finishers in any order; and a “trifecta box” entails picking all the winners of six consecutive races, an extremely difficult feat that often carries enormous payouts. See house rules for complete details.
