The NFL beefed up its technology, dedicated security personnel and partnered with sportsbooks and integrity firms to create a system that monitors betting markets and identifies offenders. That’s why if you bet on football, you should check out each online sportsbook before placing a wager. Beware of user reviews, however, as they can be misleading.

Ohio

Legal sports betting launched in the state in 2022, with retail and online books opening that fall. Ohio partnered with DraftKings, FanDuel and SugarHouse to offer its online sportsbooks, while in-person sportsbooks are run by the state lottery.

Pennsylvania

The state was among the first to legalize sports betting after the Supreme Court tossed PASPA in 2021. Retail and online sportsbooks opened in November, with DraftKings, FanDuel, BetRivers and PlaySugarhouse operating its sites. Pennsylvania is also planning to launch a new mobile app this summer.

Colorado

The state made it easier to place bets after voters approved the move in 2020. In addition to eliminating some wagering limits, it has expanded the number and type of casino games that can be offered. It is also allowing sportsbooks to open on tribal lands and has signed deals with DraftKings, FanDuel, and PlaySugarhouse to offer online and mobile betting. Online sportsbooks in Colorado can accept bets on pro and college teams, but betting on in-state collegiate teams is prohibited.
