The PGA TOUR and DraftKings have announced an expanded marketing relationship. Starting in July 2019, DraftKings will serve as the official betting operator for the PGA TOUR. The new agreement also allows DraftKings to utilize official NBA betting data in its mobile sports betting app and in its physical sportsbook locations. To make this possible, the NBA has partnered with Sportradar and Genius Sports to provide the league with data about players and games.

The NBA, NHL, and MLB are also partnering with betting sites. BetMGM signed a marketing deal with the Knicks in November of 2021, and the Dallas Cowboys signed a deal with Betway in March of 2021. The NBA and NHL are expected to sign up with additional sports betting companies during the next few years. In addition, more than half of the league’s 2022 games will be broadcast on television.

Sports betting has become legal in seven states, and more are on the way. The NFL has feared that the proliferation of legalized sports betting will destroy the moral strand of the sport. But after one season of legalized sports betting, the integrity of professional sports has survived. In the meantime, officials of the NBA and NFL have stepped in to help with the new regulation. But sports betting will likely not be a popular pastime for everyone.
